On the first evening, we will require a form completing with the contact details of the player and parent, with any medical history.

Fees

Aztecs have an annual  membership fee of £10.00 payable in July. Training is £2 per session and once we start playing our matches, £2.00 is charged for matchdays also.

Matches

The playing season starts in September 2012, see below in 'additional information' for friendlies and summer tournaments.

Training Format

Training sessions are a mix of technique, skills, match scenarios and most important aspect, fun. All training is focused on the age group of the player, so please have no concerns regarding your child’s ability.

Kit

Your child will require a football kit or loose clothing for sport, shin pads and football boots.

Qualifications

Darren is a Level 1 coach and has a CRB certificate. He was the Ashbourne Aztecs Under 7’s manager from June 2011 to December 2011 coaching two very successful teams, but he handed this job over at Christmas and he is now focusing all his efforts on the new Under 6's team(s). If your child has any friends in Year 1 who would like to play for Aztecs please feel free to pass on Darren's contact details and bring them along with you to training.

Concerns

At any time you have concerns with our coaching or your child’s progress, please do not hesitate to contact Darren.

Sponsorship

Darren is working hard seeking a sponsor for the match day kit, if any parents/friends (or child) has any good ideas or contacts, he would be delighted to hear from you/them on the above number or via email.

Fundraiser

An animal treasure hunt, possibly in the Spring, and maybe through Osmaston estate/bridle tracks which should be good, when the weather is a little warmer.  If any parent has any other fundraising ideas that would be good also.

Match Report (1)

Ashbourne Aztecs JFC under 6 v Codnor Boys FC Under 6 - Sunday 18th March, 2012
This was Aztecs' first ever game at this age level and the team took to the pitch in confident mood. The game started well with both teams seeing plenty of the ball. Aztecs slowly took control with many of the players demonstrating good passing and tackling skills, practised in training over the past few months. The organisational play was impressive to the delight of the manager and a great platform for the future.

All the players enjoyed their first game, with each being presented with a performance trophy to reward them for their excellent effort throughout the game.

Players involved as pictured above, in no particular order:
Harley Sims, Thomas Mason, Kieran Clarke, Aaron Buckingham, Morgan Chambers, Alex Rushton, Sam Mead, Oscar Robinson.

Match report (2)

Following the Under 6's first ever game last month, Aztecs played away at Codnor for the return game, with the manager introducing the remaining players to the action. With all players showing a great desire to win the ball, the game was end to end with plenty of goal mouth action. All ten players enjoyed plenty of time on the pitch and the excitement of the penalty shoot out at the end.

Players involved, as pictured above, in no particular order:
Millie Cokayne, Harley Sims, Bradley Wooliscroft, Bradley Holmes, Kieran Clarke, Alex Rushton, Kobie Jones, Ellis Shelton, Kane Roberts, Alistair Cresswell.

Update for Under 6's:

The Under 6’s travelled to Ilkeston Football Club’s ground on Bank Holiday Monday, to face stiff competition from Ilkeston’s academy as well as teams from Chesterfield, Sandiacre, Moor Green and our friendly allies Codnor. During a competitive seven game day of matches the Aztecs grew with confidence throughout the day with seven different players playing in goal. The side showed great organisation, team understanding and determination, as well as presenting some strong tackling ability to win the ball when it was needed. All the players performed brilliantly and completed the day, by being presented with their medal.

The manager learnt a lot about the team in preparation for the season, and the players experienced the wonderful atmosphere of playing in front of a big crowd.

Players involved;

Ellis Shelton, Harley Sims, Thomas Mason, Morgan Chambers, Kane Roberts, Millie Cockayne, Alisdair Creswell, Bradley Wooliscroft, Aaron Buckingham (in no particular order)

Any player who didn't take part in the above, will be given an opportunity at the Winshill Tournament on the 1st July 2012

We will also be having some friendlies throughout the summer in preparation for the 2012/13 season which starts in September 2012 at Mackworth College in Derby.

Assisting Darren we have Richard Robinson who coaches also with our under 9's Pumas, Ian Jones and Terry Brown who are our new trainee coaches.
